About the Role

Most people don’t think much about how clean water reaches their taps—or what happens to their wastewater. But Scottish Water does. And we’re looking for passionate people to join our team on the front lines of keeping Scotland’s water pure.

As a Waste Water Operative, you’ll monitor and maintain wastewater treatment processes, from sedimentation to filtration. You’ll record key numbers, test samples, oversee maintenance, and recommend improvements to keep everything running smoothly.

• Strong communication skills and confidence working independently

• Attention to detail—accuracy and safety are key

• Comfortable using computers and learning new systems

• Problem-solving mindset and ability to spot trends

• Willingness to work on a standby rota for out-of-hours support

• No worries about a bit of a whiff—this is wastewater, after all!
