Description
GS Brown are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join their growing team, working on a variety of residential infrastructure projects across Scotland.
This is a balanced role combining office-based design work with hands-on site involvement, ideal for someone who enjoys seeing projects through from design to delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with the design and detailing of infrastructure works for new housing developments

Prepare, update, and manage drawings, layouts, and technical information using Civil 3D CAD software

Support submissions to adopting authorities where required

Attend site to:

Monitor infrastructure works during construction

Measure and record completed works

Assist with setting out and quality checks

Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and designers to resolve technical issues efficiently
Requirements
-
HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

Proven experience in the design of residential infrastructure projects

Some experience with site monitoring and measurement of infrastructure works for new housing developments

Competent in CAD software, specifically Civil 3D
-
Experience with Trimble Business Centre is advantageous but not essential

Good understanding of UK standards and best practice for residential infrastructure, including Scottish Water, utilities, and NRDG legislation

Experience using Total Station and GPS surveying equipment

Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Full UK driving licence
