We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bid Manager to join our Scotland team, supporting the delivery of major energy and civil engineering projects across the region.

This is a key role within our pre-construction function, responsible for leading and coordinating high-quality, timely bid submissions that secure future work for our development and delivery teams.

The Role

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, you will take ownership of managing and developing bids to agreed programmes and quality standards. You will work closely with the Bid Lead and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop bids in line with agreed schedules and quality standards

  • Coordinate input from Project and Bid Team members, including:

    • Bid Writing

    • Commercial & Estimating

    • Planning

    • Design & Engineering

    • Civil Construction

    • Rail Systems

    • Surveys & Integration

    • Procurement

  • Work closely with functional leads to plan and manage their contribution to each proposal

  • Provide technical and commercial support to the Bid Lead to enable effective decision-making

  • Ensure clear communication and collaboration across all stakeholders

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience in delivering or coordinating successful bids, tenders, or estimating submissions

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead within a collaborative team environment

  • Excellent communication and leadership capability

  • Knowledge and/or experience within the UK railway industry

  • Strong commercial awareness

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (chartered status desirable) and/or degree-level education

  • Knowledge or experience of alliancing (desirable)
