Electrical Maintenance Technician – Fife

2020 Recruitment are working with our renewable energy client who are looking to add a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to their team at their Fife based biomass plant on a permanent basis.

This is a dayshift role working on a two week rotation and offers a half day every second Friday.

The successful candidate must live within Fife as you may on occasion be required to be on call if the company requires this.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out routine and defect maintenance to ensure plant reliability, availability, and optimal output. This role is hands-on and site-based within a heavy industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

As the Electrical Maintenance Technician your duties will include:

  • Carry out routine and non-routine electrical maintenance activities in line with approved procedures
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times in accordance with the SHE Management System
  • Support plant availability through planned maintenance and fault response, including out-of-hours support when required
  • Diagnose plant faults, investigate issues, and implement effective solutions
  • Work with electrical systems including LV and instrumentation, with HV experience highly desirable
  • Complete condition monitoring activities to maintain plant performance
  • Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system
  • Support maintenance planning with appropriate resources and competencies
  • Supervise contractors and other personnel as directed
  • Provide cover for the Maintenance Coordinator when required

 

 

Requirements

To be considered for the Electrical Maintenance Technician you must have the following:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician within industrial environments
  • Ability to work with electrical systems, instrumentation, and LV equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working to site safety rules and permit systems
  • Competent user of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Good communication skills and IT literacy
  • HV experience
  • Time-served apprenticeship
  • Right to work in the UK
