Due to continued increased growth and output across all of our value streams, we are looking to increase our team of machine operators based, in person, here at our Tayport Factory on a full time and permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
Quality Control: Inspect fabrics for defects, irregularities, and deviations from quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to the machines to maintain product quality.
Machine Setup and Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate technical textile machines according to product specifications and work orders. Monitor machine operations to ensure smooth and efficient production.
Material Handling: Load and unload raw materials onto/from the knitting machines, ensuring proper alignment and tension. Monitor material supply and replenish as needed.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during the production process. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure optimal machine performance.
Data Recording: Accurately record production data, including machine settings, production rates, and any quality-related information. Provide regular updates to supervisors and team members.
Process Optimization: Collaborate with the production team to improve knitting processes, enhance productivity, and minimize downtime. Provide suggestions for process improvements based on first hand experience.
Training and Development: Assist in training new operators on machine setup, operation, and maintenance procedures. Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues from different departments, such as design, quality assurance, and maintenance, to ensure seamless production processes and successful outcomes.
This is a shift-based role, working on a pattern of 7 shift across 14 days with a mix of day and night shift between Monday and Sunday on 12-hour shifts. You will be expected to be able to travel to Tayport to start your shift independently of public transport to start at 6am or 6pm.
