Role Overview:
The Warehouse Lead plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of warehouse operations within their designated area. This position involves leading and supervising a team to maintain accurate stock control, achieve operational targets, and uphold JTC’s high standards of quality and efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily activities, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement through effective leadership and process enhancement. Working closely with management, suppliers, and the Inventory Controller, the Area Team Lead will ensure that stock levels are accurately maintained, stock transactions are complete on time, workloads are prioritised effectively, and all warehouse operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise employees within your area.
· Ensure discipline of all stock transactions including goods in and out.
· Supply progress reports to management.
· Work with your team to resolve any issues.
· Ensure that the highest quality standards are met.
· Cross train and multi-skill your team.
· Lifting and moving products (repetitive lifting, not always heavy)
· Work with your team to achieve continual improvement.
· Work with your manager to implement new processes and practices.
· Accountable and responsible for maintaining effective, consistent stock levels.
· Liaise with suppliers.
· Support Inventory Controllers daily responsibilities
· Prioritising workload and stock requests.
· Producing reports on e.g. stock levels, etc.
About you
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in stock/inventory control at a supervisory level within a high-volume manufacturing or warehouse environment.
· Strong supervisory and team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in liaising with colleagues, management, and suppliers.
· Experience managing conflict and resolving operational issues effectively.
· Proficient in electronic stock/inventory management systems and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet targets, goals, and deadlines.
· Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
· Forklift driving qualification is essential
· Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
· Physically fit and able to undertake repetitive lifting and manual handling tasks as required.
