IT Support Assistant

Location: Kirkcaldy (Head Office) and you will also be required to travel to sites as necessary to resolve issues.

Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM depending on the company’s needs, there is Full Time and Part Time availability

Salary: £14 - £16 per hour

Greens Retail are part of the Glenshire Group, a Scottish family-owned conglomerate based in Fife. The Group operates in multiple sectors Retail (Greens Retail), Hospitality, Property, Pizza Hut delivery and Frozen Drinks (Skwishee).

The Role

As our Part-Time IT Support Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our IT needs, providing crucial technical support across the organization. Your primary focus will be on:

- Remote Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving software and connectivity issues.

- Networking Support: Assisting with router/switch configuration, Wi-Fi/LAN diagnostics, VPN issues, and maintaining network documentation. This also includes the installation and setup of physical networking hardware on site and tidying up existing networking infrastructure.

- CCTV System Support: Monitoring functionality, re-configuring systems, and providing access control support.

- Computer Setup & User Support: Preparing workstations, managing OS updates, antivirus, software installations, and user credentials.

What We Are Looking For

We need someone who is:

- Proactive: You can anticipate issues and take initiative.

- A strong communicator: You can explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.

- Detail-oriented: You maintain accurate records and documentation.

- Security-conscious: You understand the importance of data protection and secure practices.

Response Times:

- Critical issues: Acknowledge within 1 hour during working hours.

- Non-critical tickets: Respond within 24 hours.

Key Responsibilities

- Utilize remote access tools (e.g., Splashtop, Teamviewer) for diagnostics and fixes.

- Prepare and maintain user workstations, including hardware and software.

- Monitor and provide basic maintenance for CCTV systems.

- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN).

- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT tasks, assets, and incidents.

- Adhere strictly to GDPR and internal data protection policies.

- Escalate unresolved issues or hardware-dependent problems to relevant parties.
